The Federal Ministry of Education has reiterated its deep concern over the continued prevalence of examination malpractice in Nigeria’s education system, warning that the practice undermines the credibility of academic qualifications and threatens the nation’s human capital development.
In line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the Ministry firmly restates its commitment to eradicating all forms of examination malpractice nationwide.
To ensure accountability, the Ministry will collaborate closely with the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and other relevant security agencies to investigate and prosecute offenders in accordance with the Examination Malpractice Act and other applicable laws.
The Ministry is calling on all education stakeholders—students, parents, teachers, school authorities, and members of the public—to support this effort to protect the integrity of the country’s educational system.
“We are resolute in our mission to preserve the sanctity of examinations and ensure they reflect genuine knowledge and competence,” the Ministry declared. “Our education system must reward merit and equip learners for global competitiveness.”
The public is encouraged to report all cases of examination malpractice to the appropriate authorities, as collective vigilance is essential in restoring trust, discipline, and excellence in Nigeria’s schools.
