The Ogun State Government has sealed six industries across the state for violating environmental regulations.
The affected companies are Winwin Electrical Limited, Isichei Farms Limited, Chafengei Nigeria Limited, Fortune Height Farms Limited, Loly B and DA Ventures Limited, and Adventus Nigeria Limited.
This was announced in a statement issued on Saturday by the Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA) via its official X (formerly Twitter) account. The agency reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing environmental standards and safeguarding the state’s ecosystem.
According to Farouk Tunde, Special Adviser to the Governor on OGEPA and Chairman of the Ogun State Task Force on Environmental Compliance and Enforcement, the companies were sanctioned for various infractions. He revealed that some of them had been previously sealed but unlawfully resumed operations.
Winwin Electrical Limited, Isichei Farms Limited, and Chafengei Nigeria Limited, all located along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, were sealed for air pollution. Fortune Height Farms Limited in Odogbolu Local Government Area was resealed after it broke the initial government seal and resumed operations despite earlier sanctions for discharging untreated effluent into the environment.
Loly B and DA Ventures Limited in Ijebu-Ode, a grain cleaning company, was sealed for defying a stop-work order previously issued by the agency.
Adventus Nigeria Limited, a tube processing factory situated along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, was sealed for exposing workers to environmental hazards and failing to provide them with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Isichei Farms Limited, which produces poultry feed and is also located on the expressway, was additionally cited for disregarding a stop-work order.
Tunde emphasized the government’s zero-tolerance stance on environmental violations and reiterated OGEPA’s resolve to ensure all industries in Ogun State operate within the bounds of environmental laws.
