The Federal Government has declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays in celebration of this year’s Eid-ul-Adha (Eid-el-Kabir).
This was announced in a statement released on Monday by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government.
Tunji-Ojo extended warm congratulations to all Muslims in Nigeria and the Diaspora, urging the faithful to emulate the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, and faith exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him).
He also called on Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for national peace, unity, and prosperity.
The minister reassured citizens that the ongoing people-focused reforms under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda are aimed at repositioning the country on a path of sustainable development.
While wishing the Muslim Ummah a joyful Eid celebration, he encouraged all Nigerians to support the current administration’s efforts to restore Nigeria’s greatness.
