Education Ministry Fully Automates Admissions into Federal Unity Colleges

The Federal Ministry of Education has announced the release of admissions into Federal Unity Colleges across the country, marking a significant milestone in ensuring transparency, efficiency, and proper capacity management in secondary school placements.

The initiative, championed by the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, introduces a fully automated admission process strictly conducted within the approved capacity of each school, thereby eliminating the problem of overstretched facilities.

Highlighting the importance of the reform, Dr. Alausa said:

“This reform guarantees fairness, operational efficiency, and sustained quality in our Federal Unity Colleges.”

The current admission exercise applies to 80 conventional Federal Unity Colleges (Junior Secondary School 1), while admissions into the 42 Federal Technical Colleges under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme will be released subsequently.

The Director of Senior Secondary Education, Hajia Binta Abdulkadri, described the automation as a “game-changer,” emphasizing that the system now ensures admissions are strictly aligned with each school’s capacity, thereby creating a more conducive learning environment.

The Ministry noted that this reform will streamline the admission process, enhance accountability, and maintain the highest educational standards across all Federal Unity Colleges.

Parents, guardians, and students are advised to check admission results via the Ministry’s official website: www.education.gov.ng.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to delivering quality education in a safe and supportive learning environment for all Nigerian children.
