Education Ministers Hail Oluremi Tinubu’s Birthday Gesture to Revive National Library Fund

The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, and the Honourable Minister of State for Education, Professor Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmad, have expressed deep appreciation to the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, as she marks her 65th birthday.

In a symbolic and selfless gesture, Senator Tinubu requested that friends and well-wishers mark the occasion by donating to the National Library Fund instead of giving her personal gifts. The Ministers described this act as a reflection of her lifelong passion for education and her belief in the transformative power of knowledge.

They noted that reviving the National Library Fund is a cornerstone of the Federal Government’s plan to shift Nigeria from a resource-driven to a knowledge-driven economy. The National Library, they said, is not just a physical institution but a beacon of learning, opportunity, and progress for future generations.

The initiative also resonates with the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, who has consistently placed education at the heart of national renewal. His administration remains committed to creating better learning environments and equipping young Nigerians with the skills and opportunities needed to thrive in a fast-changing world.

The Ministers called on Nigerians across public and private sectors, civil society, and individuals to support the National Library Fund, stressing that collective effort is crucial in building a stronger educational foundation for the country.
