Women Affairs Ministry, Customs Partner to Support Women and Families Nationwide

The Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has lauded the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) for joining forces with the Ministry to deliver essential relief materials to women, families, and vulnerable groups across Nigeria’s 774 Local Government Areas.

The initiative, aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the vision of the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is distributing rice, fabrics, and other key items to bring comfort and hope to households.

Benue State was the first beneficiary, where over 400 bags of rice, 20 bales of Ankara fabrics, and 10 bales of multipurpose clothing were handed out to women and families. On Monday, the Minister took the exercise to Abeokuta, Ogun State, distributing more than 100 bags of rice and five bales of Ankara fabrics.

Hajiya Imaan praised Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, and his team for their commitment, describing the gesture as a show of compassion and alignment with the government’s agenda.

“This effort reflects genuine concern for the welfare of our women, children, and vulnerable citizens. On behalf of Nigerian women, I deeply appreciate the Comptroller General and his team for standing with us to uplift lives and strengthen families,” she said.

The Ministry assured that the partnership will continue to extend across other states in the weeks ahead to ensure nationwide impact.
