Delta Gov Oborevwori Mourns Super Eagles Captain Ndidi Over Father’s Death

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has expressed deep condolences to Super Eagles captain, Wilfred Ndidi, following the death of his father, Mr Sunday Ndidi.

Mr Ndidi, a retired military officer, reportedly died in a fatal road accident on Tuesday at Umunede in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State. He was said to have been rushed to a hospital in Agbor, where he was later confirmed dead.

In a statement issued on Wednesday in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor described the death as sudden and painful, noting that it was a significant loss not only to the Ndidi family but also to the Umunede community and the entire Ika Nation.

Governor Oborevwori extended his heartfelt sympathies to Wilfred Ndidi, the bereaved family, and the people of Umunede, urging them to find comfort in the impactful life and legacy left behind by the deceased.

The tragic incident has continued to attract widespread sympathy, including from Wilfred Ndidi’s football club, Besiktas, which confirmed the development in a statement shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle.

The governor prayed that God grants the family the strength to bear the irreparable loss and grants the departed eternal rest.
