Naira Marley Says Only a Few Nigerian Artists Are Not in Cults

Rapper and singer Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has raised concerns over the prevalence of cultism in the Nigerian music industry.

Marley lamented the negative trend, claiming that only a handful of artists, including himself, have not joined a cult.

He mocked musicians who join cults for power or protection, pointing out the irony that even the people who encouraged them to join often still travel with police escorts.

On his X handle, Marley wrote: “We no reach 5 weh never join cult for this [music] industry. Person weh put u for cult self dey carry police escort up and down.”

Naira Marley has previously denied being a cult member, stating that he was once threatened by cultists for refusing to join.
