Benue Ex-Governor Gabriel Suswam Quits PDP Amid Internal Party Crisis

Former Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing ongoing internal conflicts within the party as his reason for leaving.

The resignation was conveyed in a letter dated February 4, addressed to the Chairman of the Mbagber Council Ward in Logo Local Government Area of Benue State.

Suswam, however, did not specify which political party he plans to join next. Reports indicate that he is associated with a coalition of opposition leaders who have adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as their platform ahead of the next elections.

In his letter, the former governor wrote: “I consider it honorable and necessary to step aside while wishing the party well should it one day find the courage and consensus to resolve its long-standing issues.”
