The Chief Executive Officer of Galaxy Backbone, Professor Ibrahim Adeyanju, has praised the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for its longstanding role in promoting national unity, youth development, and socio-economic growth, while proposing a partnership to enhance the scheme’s digital operations.
Adeyanju made the remarks during a courtesy visit to the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Abuja, where he highlighted the value of the scheme’s policy of posting corps members outside their states of origin, describing it as a vital mechanism for fostering national integration despite operational challenges.
He explained that Galaxy Backbone serves as the Federal Government’s core digital infrastructure provider, delivering secure internet and data services to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). According to him, collaboration with the NYSC would help modernize its technological systems and strengthen service delivery across state secretariats.
“We are open to partnership, and we will ensure that NYSC State Secretariats operate with enhanced digital infrastructure,” Adeyanju said, assuring that organizations using the company’s services benefit from strong data protection measures compliant with Nigerian laws.
Responding, the Director-General of NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, described the scheme as a nationally recognized institution contributing to the development of a skilled workforce. He commended Galaxy Backbone’s innovations and affirmed the NYSC’s readiness to collaborate with agencies that can improve its operational efficiency.
Nafiu added that the NYSC management would review the proposal for partnership, signaling possible future cooperation between the two federal institutions aimed at advancing digital capacity and public service delivery.
