Port Harcourt, Nigeria — The Rivers State Government has donated a Toyota Hilux van to the South-South 2 Area Office of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), enhancing mobility and operational efficiency for the country’s youth service program in the region.
The gesture fulfills a commitment made by Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara during a visit by NYSC Director-General Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu to the Government House in November 2025.
The vehicle was officially handed over by Secretary to the State Government Dr. Benibo Anabraba to Mr. Phillip Enaberue, Director of the Area Office, in a ceremony attended by senior officials, including Permanent Secretary Sir Dede Friday and NYSC State Coordinator Mr. Moses Oleghe.
The donation highlights Rivers State’s commitment to youth development, operational support for national programs, and public-private engagement, providing the NYSC with the necessary tools to effectively execute its mandate across the South-South zone of Nigeria.
