INEC Warns Public Against Fake Voter Registration Website

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has alerted the public to a fraudulent website circulating under the title “INEC VOTERS CARD ONLINE REGISTRATION.” The Commission clarified that the site, which uses the link tinyurl.com/INEC-PVC-Regis…, is fake, misleading, and not authorized.

INEC emphasized that it did not create, endorse, or approve the site, and warned citizens against submitting any personal information through it.

“The public is strongly advised not to visit the site or provide any personal details as it is fraudulent,” INEC stated in a public notice.

The Commission reiterated that the only official portal for Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) services including updating registration information, transferring registration to another polling unit, replacing lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and locating registration centres is: cvr.inecnigeria.org/Public/getStar…

Citizens are urged to remain vigilant against online scams and misinformation and to use only the official CVR portal for all voter registration matters. For further enquiries, INEC can be reached via the following telephone lines: 09050858629, 09050858675, 09050858649.

INEC reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the integrity of the voter registration process.
