Tottenham Race to Install Interim Manager Before Crucial Arsenal Derby

Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to appoint a temporary manager for the rest of the season following the dismissal of Thomas Frank earlier this week.

The decision came with Spurs sitting just five points above the relegation zone, prompting swift action from club officials seeking to steady their campaign.

Tottenham are confident of finalising a deal for an interim replacement before the squad returns to training on Monday. The team has been given time off after their FA Cup third-round exit and faces a nine-day gap before meeting rivals Arsenal in the north London derby on February 22.

Club insiders acknowledge that managerial options are limited at this stage of the season, with a wider pool of candidates expected to become available in the summer. As a result, Tottenham plan to install a short-term coach now and conduct a comprehensive search for a permanent manager at the end of the campaign. However, the interim boss could still be considered for the full-time role if results and performances improve significantly.

Former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with a possible return to north London. He is currently in charge of the United States men's national soccer team and remains under contract until after this summer’s World Cup. Another name mentioned is Roberto De Zerbi, who recently left Olympique de Marseille by mutual consent.

With a demanding run of fixtures approaching, including the derby showdown, Tottenham’s immediate priority is restoring stability and pulling clear of the relegation fight before making a long-term managerial decision in the summer.
