Popular content creator Shank has opened up about the challenges of living in the United States, revealing that the experience is far from the glamorous life many imagine.
During a recent livestream, Shank shared that he has lost a significant amount of weight since relocating, attributing the change largely to the high cost of Nigerian food abroad. According to him, a simple plate of rice and stew can cost up to $30, making it difficult to maintain his usual diet.
He explained that, as a result, he now relies mostly on bread and other cheaper alternatives, a shift that has visibly impacted his health. Reflecting on the difference from life in Nigeria, Shank asked his audience how much a cup of rice costs back home, highlighting the stark contrast.
In a comment that quickly went viral, he humorously noted, “If you see any of your friends in America buying Nigerian food, just know they’re rich,” underlining the financial strain of maintaining a familiar diet abroad.
