Renowned Nigerian gospel singer Deborah Fasoyin, famous for her hit song Odun n lo sopin, has debunked circulating reports of her death.
The false news, which spread widely on social media and some news outlets on Monday, prompted the 86-year-old Christ Apostolic Church singer to address the rumors directly in a video shared online.
“Great day to you everybody. I’m happy to tell you that I’m hale and hearty, and what you’ve seen on Facebook is fake,” Fasoyin said, reassuring fans of her good health. “I know that I will finish strong with supernatural sound health. And I will go to my father in peace not in sickness, not in pain. I will die at a good old age just like my father Abraham. Thank you very much.”
