JAMB Disburses ₦1.57 Billion to CBT Centres for 2026 UTME Registration

Over ₦1.57 Billion to CBT Centres for 2026 UTME Registration
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has disclosed that it has paid a total of ₦1,570,671,200 to accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across Nigeria for facilitating the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration.

The amount represents the ₦700 registration fee collected from candidates that is earmarked for CBT centres, which assist in providing seamless registration services nationwide. JAMB collects this fee together with the ePIN registration charge and remits it directly to the centres on a weekly basis.

According to JAMB officials, the payments are part of the Board’s cashless registration policy, aimed at ensuring transparency, preventing exploitation, and eliminating extra charges to candidates outside the official registration system.

The 2026 UTME registration saw thousands of candidates across the country, and the funds paid to CBT centres reflect the critical role these centres play in facilitating a smooth, secure, and organized registration process.

JAMB’s move underscores its commitment to fair, accountable, and efficient registration practices, ensuring that accredited centres are properly compensated for their services while safeguarding candidates from overpayment or fraudulent practices.
