Pain and Faith: Judikay Speaks on Losing Her Pregnancy for the Sixth Time

Nigerian gospel singer Judikay has shared the emotional and spiritual toll of losing her sixth pregnancy, describing the experience as one of the most painful moments of her life.

In a video posted on Instagram, the singer revealed that the heartbreaking incident occurred in February 2025, when she was already over three months pregnant.

According to Judikay, the ordeal began with mild cramps while she went about her daily routine symptoms she initially dismissed as insignificant. However, the situation quickly escalated when she noticed light bleeding that soon became severe. She was rushed to the hospital, where doctors confirmed a missed miscarriage and carried out a dilation and curettage (D&C) procedure.

Reflecting on the devastating loss, she said:
“In February 2025, I experienced a pain that almost crushed me. I was pregnant well over three months. One of these days I was going about my day when I started to experience cramps. I said, ‘oh, okay, it was one of those things.’ And then trickles of blood and I said, ‘oh spotting.’ I was devastated because I understood what that meant automatically.”

She added that the nights were especially difficult, marked by deep emotional and physical pain.
“In the silence of the night, I would experience a pain that I could not express. I would wake and cry and say, Jesus, where are you?”

Judikay, whose real name is Judith Kanayo-Opara, is married to Anselem Opara. The couple tied the knot in November 2020 and welcomed their first child, a son, in March 2022.

Despite enduring repeated pregnancy losses, the singer’s testimony underscores her steadfast faith, as she continues to draw strength and comfort from God in the face of profound grief.
