Tragedy in Nashville: 23-Year-Old Nigerian Student Killed in Police Chase Crash Months Before Graduation

A 23-year-old Nigerian student, Oluwalayomi Fadero, has been tragically killed in Nashville after a reckless driver fleeing police crashed into her vehicle, just five months before her anticipated graduation.

According to reports, the incident occurred on Hickory Woods Drive when a driver in an allegedly stolen pickup truck struck Fadero’s car as she was turning into her neighborhood. She was on her way home at the time of the crash.

Her dog, Nala, who was in the vehicle with her, survived the collision.

Fadero, a graduate of Fisk University, held a bachelor’s degree in computer science with a minor in business administration. At the time of her death, she was pursuing an accelerated nursing degree at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, with plans to graduate in August 2026.

Her sudden death has left her family, friends, and the wider community in shock, as tributes continue to pour in for the young woman described as driven and full of promise.
