Nollywood veteran Joke Silva recently opened up about her decades-long marriage to fellow actor Olu Jacobs during an appearance on TVC’s Your View, offering rare personal reflections that have captured public attention.
During the interview, Silva, 64, revealed that she did not initially know about the significant age gap between her and Jacobs when they first met on a movie set. She later discovered that he was 20 years her senior, a difference she now regards as beneficial in their long-standing marriage.
“Older men allow you to get away with a lot of things,” Silva said, noting that the age difference afforded her more freedom and ease in the relationship. She also admitted that their connection was not love at first sight, but a bond that deepened over time.
Silva and Jacobs married when she was 24 and he was 44, and they have since raised two children together. The actress’s candid remarks provided a rare glimpse into her personal life, sparking discussions among viewers about relationships and the dynamics of age differences in marriage.
The interview comes as part of Silva’s continued engagement with the public, blending reflections on her career, personal life, and insights into relationships and life experiences in the entertainment industry.
