Irish actor Michael Patrick, best known for his appearance in the acclaimed TV series Game of Thrones, has reportedly passed away at the age of 35 following a prolonged battle with Motor Neurone Disease.
The sad news was confirmed by his wife, Naomi Sheehan, who shared an emotional tribute via Instagram on Wednesday, April 8. She revealed that the family is “broken-hearted” by the loss of the actor, fondly known as “Mick.”
Michael was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in February 2023 a debilitating condition that progressively damages nerve cells responsible for essential bodily functions including breathing, movement, speech, and swallowing.
In her heartfelt message, Naomi described her late husband as a vibrant and inspiring individual who embraced life fully despite his illness.
“He was a titan of a ginger-haired man and an inspiration,” she wrote. “He lived a life as full as any human can live full of joy, abundance of spirit, and infectious laughter.”
His passing has sparked an outpouring of tributes from fans and colleagues, many of whom have praised his resilience and enduring spirit in the face of a devastating diagnosis.
Michael Patrick’s legacy lives on through his work on screen and the lasting impact he made on those who knew and admired him.
