Former Emmanuel Eboué has shared a deeply emotional account of his prolonged separation from his children, revealing the heartbreak and longing that continue to shape his daily life.
Speaking candidly, the ex-Arsenal F.C. defender said reconnecting with his children remains his greatest prayer.
“Yes, it’s my prayer every day… I pray and say, God, please, one day I want to see my kids,” he said, explaining that he has deliberately chosen to remain in his home country rather than travel abroad in the hope of reuniting with them.
Eboué disclosed that he has not seen his children in years and no longer has recent photos of them, relying instead on others to help him find updates online.
“I don’t have any recent picture the ones I have are old, from when they were kids,” he said, adding that attempts to obtain newer photos from their mother have been unsuccessful.
He also revealed that efforts to communicate directly have largely gone unanswered.
“I send them messages… they read, but they don’t reply,” he said, recalling how a recent attempt to reach one of his daughters on her birthday went unanswered.
Despite rebuilding aspects of his life after well-documented personal and financial struggles, Eboué admitted the absence of his children remains a painful void.
“I have my life now, but one thing that is missing in my life is my kids,” he said.
