Social media entertainers Habeeb “Portable” Badmus and Carter Efe have sparked excitement ahead of their celebrity boxing match after exchanging heated words during a pre-fight face-off.
The bout is part of Chaos in the Ring 4, scheduled to take place on May 1 at the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The pre-fight meeting quickly turned tense as both personalities openly challenged each other, each promising a decisive victory in the ring. Their exchange has since heightened anticipation among fans eager to witness how the rivalry plays out.
The event is sanctioned by the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control and organised by Balmoral Group in partnership with Amir Khan’s AK Promotions. It will also feature a headline fight between Ezra Arenyeka and Godday Appah under the WBO Peace Fight banner, aimed at promoting unity between the Itsekiri and Ijaw communities.
Both main-card fighters expressed confidence ahead of their clash, with Appah predicting a knockout within six rounds, while Arenyeka vowed to end the fight even earlier.
Portable, who has previously recorded exhibition wins against Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington, said he is aiming for another victory against Carter Efe. However, Efe dismissed Portable’s past achievements, insisting the upcoming fight would end in his favour.
The event card also includes several international bouts, featuring Britain’s Michael McKinson against Algeria’s Mohammad Sahnoun, Ghana’s Elvis Ahorgah versus Joe Laws of Newcastle, and Rasheed Adeyemo against Nicolaus Mdoe. Rising prospect Raheem Animashaun will also face Tanzania’s Emmanuel Amos.
Balmoral Group CEO Ezekiel Adamu said the event is designed to provide African boxers with a global platform, noting that it will be broadcast worldwide on DAZN.
He added that the initiative aims to create opportunities for young fighters while showcasing African boxing talent to an international audience.
