Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, on Friday paid glowing tribute to the memory of his late mother, Mrs. Rose Diri, describing her as a woman of virtue.
The governor made the remarks during her 13th memorial service held at Ayamasa in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
According to a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Alabrah, Governor Diri noted that mothers occupy a special place in the lives of their children due to the love, care, and warmth they provide.
He added that the late matriarch of the Diri family positively impacted not only her children but also extended kindness to the entire family and all those who came across her during her lifetime, saying her good deeds remain evergreen in their memories.
The governor said, “Mothers occupy very special places in our hearts. We were indeed very close to our mother.
“We are only remembered by what we have done after our lives on earth. Although she died many years ago, Mama’s memories will remain evergreen in our hearts.
“As we gather here, let us take a moment to reflect on who we are. In all we do, let us try to touch the lives of others. She will forever be remembered for her good nature and enduring legacies.”
