Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) were the biggest winners at the 2025/26 UNFP Awards ceremony held in Paris on Monday, with forward Ousmane Dembélé named Ligue 1 Player of the Year.
The French winger clinched the prestigious award for the second time in his career after a standout season with PSG, succeeding former teammate Kylian Mbappé, who previously dominated the award by winning it five consecutive times before his move to Real Madrid.
Dembélé, who also won the 2025 Ballon d’Or and The Best FIFA award, has been a key figure for PSG this season, contributing 10 goals and 6 assists in 16 league appearances. In 2026, he has added 12 more direct goal contributions in Ligue 1, just one fewer than Esteban Lepaul.
Reacting after receiving the honour, Dembélé credited his teammates for his achievements.
“This is an individual trophy, but all the individual trophies I’ve won are thanks to this team,” he said in a statement released on Monday by PSG.
PSG’s young talent Désiré Doué also had a memorable night, winning the Best Young Player award after an impressive breakout season.
In the coaching category, Pierre Sage was named Coach of the Year after guiding Lens to one of PSG’s closest title challenges this campaign.
Lens also earned recognition through goalkeeper Robin Risser, who was named Best Goalkeeper following a series of outstanding performances.
Elsewhere, Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise was named Best French Player Abroad for his impressive form in Germany.
