Tension Erupts at Real Madrid as Valverde Receives Hospital Treatment After Training Ground Clash with Tchouameni

Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde reportedly required hospital treatment after a heated confrontation with teammate Aurelien Tchouameni following the club’s training session on Thursday, according to multiple Spanish media reports.

The Uruguay international was said to have sustained a facial injury during an altercation that escalated after training at Madrid’s Valdebebas complex. Reports indicated that Valverde was later accompanied to a nearby hospital facility by coach Alvaro Arbeloa, where he received stitches for the wound.

Spanish newspaper Marca, which first broke the story, reported that the injury was accidental and not the result of a deliberate punch from Tchouameni.

The incident reportedly stemmed from an argument between both players during Wednesday’s training session, with tensions allegedly carrying over into Thursday’s activities.

According to Spanish media accounts, Valverde refused to shake Tchouameni’s hand before the session and later committed a heavy foul on the French midfielder during training. The disagreement reportedly intensified after the session, culminating in a scuffle inside the dressing room where Valverde sustained the facial cut.

Neither Real Madrid nor representatives of the two players issued official comments when approached regarding the reports.

The reported confrontation comes amid growing pressure within the Madrid camp as the club edges toward a second straight season without securing a major trophy.

Attention now turns to Sunday’s crucial El Clasico clash against arch-rivals FC Barcelona in La Liga.

Barcelona currently sit 11 points clear at the top of the table and could secure consecutive league titles if they avoid defeat against Los Blancos.
