Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has revealed that she welcomed a baby girl more than two years ago, explaining that she and her family deliberately kept the child out of the public eye to preserve their peace and enjoy the experience privately. The actress made the announcement in an emotional Instagram post on Sunday as she celebrated her birthday.
Sharing photographs from her pregnancy and a close-up image of her daughter’s hand, Adunni disclosed that the birth had been kept private for over two years. She said the decision was not driven by secrecy or shame but by a desire to protect a precious chapter of her life from public scrutiny and pressure.
“Today, on my birthday, I’m finally sharing what we’ve protected for over two years,” she wrote, adding that privacy allowed her family to fully embrace the blessing. According to the actress, peace was invaluable, and not every joyful moment needed to be lived in the public spotlight.
Adunni described the arrival of her daughter as the culmination of years of waiting, perseverance and faith. She revealed that the journey spanned nearly a decade and included personal struggles, resilience and answered prayers. She referred to her daughter, whom she called Baby Sal, as a testament to God’s perfect timing.
The actress also addressed possible speculation surrounding the birth, cautioning against assumptions often made about women, motherhood and personal family decisions. She stressed that not every single mother’s story fits common stereotypes and that blessings do not always come with controversy or drama.
While thanking those who have supported and prayed for her family over the years, Adunni reflected on the distinction between her public and private life. She noted that while fans may know the version of her seen online, much of her personal journey remains unseen.
