Nigerian singer Shoday has opened up about his journey in the music industry, revealing that he always had an alternative career path in mind in case his music ambitions did not work out.
Speaking during a recent interview, the singer disclosed that he studied Building Technology in school and was prepared to pursue a professional career in the field if music failed to provide a breakthrough. According to him, returning to office work was always part of his backup plan.
Shoday explained that his cautious approach to life influenced many of his decisions, including his choice not to get tattoos. He said he deliberately avoided making permanent changes to his appearance because he wanted to keep his career options open.
Reflecting on his success so far, the singer said his consistency in the industry has convinced him that music is the path he was meant to follow. He noted that he has remained relevant through multiple releases and believes his progress is a sign that he is fulfilling his purpose.
The artiste also shared a personal lesson he has learned over the years, stressing the importance of adaptability. According to him, life does not always unfold as expected, making it necessary for people to have alternative plans and be willing to adjust when circumstances change.
Shoday credited his upbringing for shaping that mindset, saying his family taught him to always prepare for different outcomes. He explained that growing up where he did made having a “Plan B” a necessity, a value his mother and family consistently instilled in him.
