Tinubu's Performance Will Secure 2027 Re-Election, Says Education Minister

By Adeola Kunle

...Says Ongoing Economic Reforms Are Producing Tangible Results and Creating a Stronger Future

The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will earn a second term in office in the 2027 presidential election, attributing this optimism to the administration's economic achievements and the positive impact of its reform agenda.

Speaking during an interview, Dr. Alausa stated that President Tinubu has remained committed to fulfilling the promises made to Nigerians by implementing bold economic policies aimed at repositioning the country's economy and laying the groundwork for sustainable, inclusive development.

According to the Minister, Nigeria's economic progress is now being validated by credible statistics and independent assessments rather than political narratives. He noted that institutions such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, Bloomberg, and Nigeria's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) have all acknowledged the positive outcomes of the government's economic reforms, which have strengthened investor confidence and improved the nation's economic outlook.

Dr. Alausa explained that several macroeconomic indicators are showing encouraging signs, with inflation beginning to decline, business activities expanding, and other key economic indices recording steady improvements.

He emphasised that beyond the immediate gains, President Tinubu is committed to ensuring that the reforms remain durable and continue to benefit Nigerians well into the future.

"The President is determined to build a stronger Nigeria that will serve future generations. The reforms being implemented are not intended to deliver temporary benefits but to establish lasting prosperity. There is no reason to undertake difficult reforms if they cannot endure over time," the Minister stated.

The Education Minister further said that the administration's focus on fiscal responsibility, structural transformation and long-term economic stability is already delivering positive results across various sectors, placing Nigeria on a firmer path towards inclusive economic growth, higher productivity and national development.

Reiterating his confidence in the President's leadership, Dr. Alausa maintained that as more Nigerians experience the benefits of the ongoing reforms and improvements in the economy become more evident, President Tinubu's record in office will provide the strongest justification for seeking another mandate in the 2027 presidential election.

He also reaffirmed that the Tinubu-led administration remains committed to implementing policies that will strengthen the economy, improve the welfare of citizens and advance the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda. Dr. Alausa expressed optimism that the current reforms will continue to generate lasting prosperity and sustainable development for all Nigerians.
