The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced a new commencement date for the 2026 Batch 'B' Stream II Orientation Course in Sokoto and Niger States following ongoing renovation work at the orientation camps.
According to the scheme's management, the adjustment became necessary because the respective state governments are still carrying out renovation projects at the two orientation camp facilities.
Under the revised timetable, the orientation programme will now commence on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
The Cut-Off and Swearing-in Ceremony has been scheduled for Friday, August 14, 2026, while the Closing Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
The NYSC also advised all Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) deployed to Sokoto and Niger States to avoid travelling at night while proceeding to their orientation camps in the interest of their safety.
Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, wished all prospective corps members a safe journey as they prepare to report for the orientation exercise.
