Natasha Hails INEC for Rejecting Recall Bid, Mocks Detractors

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for rejecting the recall process initiated by some groups and individuals against her.

In a statement issued on Thursday, she thanked INEC for upholding justice and constitutionality, refusing to yield to what she termed “undemocratic elements” in Kogi and the Senate.

Her reaction came just hours after INEC declared that the recall petition failed to meet constitutional requirements and, therefore, could no longer be processed.

Rejecting a 'Fake Process'

Through her media team, Akpoti-Uduaghan commended the electoral body for dismissing what she described as a “fake process” sponsored by certain individuals and groups attempting to remove her from the Senate.

Victory for Democracy

The senator further lauded INEC’s decision, calling it a victory for justice.

“The decision to reject the recall process is justice against injustice. INEC has proven to be truly independent, and history will never forget this ruling. I commend the umpire for shaming the shameless agents of darkness and setting the record straight according to the laws of our land.”

She added that this development was a major setback for political manipulators and electoral offenders in Kogi Central and beyond.

“To God be the glory, we have defeated them again. This is another record-breaking victory against those who prefer coming through the backdoor—manipulators, election riggers, and merchants of violence. Your days in politics are numbered.”

Akpoti-Uduaghan reiterated her commitment to justice, fairness, and nation-building, vowing to continue fighting for the oppressed and working towards a better Nigeria
