Man Falls from 26-Storey Cocoa House in Ibadan, Rushed to UCH

A yet-to-be-identified man reportedly fell from one of the upper floors of the iconic 26-storey Cocoa House in Ibadan, Oyo State, in a shocking incident that occurred in the early hours of Monday.

The incident, which sent panic through the business community within the building and its surroundings, was confirmed by multiple eyewitnesses who spoke with DIP Connects Online News.

Recounting the harrowing moment, an eyewitness said, “At first, I thought it was a big bird falling from the sky. It wasn’t until the body landed that I realised it was a human being. I was too stunned to even use my phone.”

Another witness added, “The man first hit the roof near the security post before hitting the ground. It was horrifying.”

The exact circumstances surrounding the fall remain unclear as investigations are ongoing. However, Odu’a Investment Company Limited, which manages Cocoa House, released an official statement on Tuesday confirming the incident.

According to the statement signed by Victor Ayetoro, the Head of Branding and Communication, the emergency response team acted swiftly, and the injured man was immediately transported to the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, for urgent medical attention.

“The company is deeply concerned about the incident and is fully cooperating with the authorities to determine the cause,” Ayetoro stated.

As of the time of this report, no official details regarding the identity of the man or his current medical condition have been released.
