VCs Set 2025 University Admission Cut-off at 150

Vice-Chancellors at the 2025 policy meeting organised by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) have set the minimum admission benchmark for universities at 150.

This means that no university in Nigeria will be allowed to admit candidates who score below 150 in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

However, some institutions, including the University of Ibadan, Pan-Atlantic University, and the University of Lagos, have opted for a higher cut-off mark of 200. Meanwhile, certain newly established private universities proposed a lower benchmark of 120.

The JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, recommended a cut-off score of 160.
