Doctors under the Association of Resident Doctors, Federal Capital Territory Administration (ARD-FCTA), have commenced an indefinite strike effective Monday.
The development was confirmed in a communiqué released by the association, signed by its President, Dr. George Ebong, and General Secretary, Dr. Agbor Affiong.
The doctors had earlier embarked on a seven-day warning strike last week to push for their demands after months of unresolved negotiations with the FCTA.
The association said the decision to escalate to an indefinite strike followed the government’s failure to address their concerns within the warning period.
Further details are expected.
