Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has pledged to deliver significant transformation in Benin City within the next two years, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to the overall development of the state.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Patrick Ebojele, the governor made the pledge after inspecting ongoing projects in Udomi, Esan Central Local Government Area, Dip Connect Online News reports.
The projects inspected include a 150-bed specialist hospital, a town hall, and a holiday resort equipped with a golf course and other tourism-related facilities.
While addressing stakeholders during the inspection, Okpebholo said Edo’s rich history should serve as a foundation for modern development rather than a barrier to progress across the state.
“Edo cannot continue to be an ancient city. We must improve it and leave it better than we met it,” the governor said.
He added, “In the next two years, you will see many changes in Benin City. Development will cut across the board.”
The inspection tour was attended by senior government officials and party leaders, including Cecil Isegaigbe and Sylvester Aigbobor.
