Osun 2026: Accord Party Confirms Adeleke’s Nomination for Governorship Race

The Accord Party in Osun State has confirmed that Governor Ademola Adeleke has been successfully uploaded and documented as its duly nominated candidate for the August 8, 2026 governorship election.

The party’s chairman, Pastor Victor Akande, disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday in Osogbo, saying the confirmation followed the completion of all documentation and submission processes with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). INEC, he said, now officially lists Adeleke as the Accord Party’s candidate for the election.

Akande described the development as a major milestone in the party’s preparations for the 2026 governorship poll.

“We are pleased to formally inform the good people of Osun State that His Excellency, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, has been successfully uploaded into INEC records as the Accord Party’s candidate,” he said.

He noted that the confirmation had resolved concerns surrounding the party’s nomination process ahead of the election scheduled by INEC. According to him, the development affirms the party’s full compliance with electoral laws and guidelines governing candidate nominations.

“The confirmation by INEC is an affirmation that the nomination process has been duly concluded in line with the requirements of the law,” Akande added.

The Accord chairman also acknowledged the support the party and its candidate have received from residents and party members across Osun State since preparations for the election began.

“We appreciate the overwhelming support, solidarity and confidence reposed in the party and in Governor Ademola Adeleke by the people of Osun State,” he said.

Akande urged party supporters and eligible voters to remain focused on the electoral process, calling on residents of voting age to ensure they are registered with INEC and have obtained their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of the August 8, 2026 governorship election.

The Accord Party has intensified preparations as the election date draws closer.
