WAFCON 2026 Draw: Super Falcons Land Zambia, Egypt, Malawi in Group C

Defending champions Nigeria will begin their title defence at the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Morocco 2026 in Group C alongside Zambia, Egypt and debutants Malawi.

According to a statement published on the Confederation of African Football’s official website on Friday, the tournament will run from March 17 to April 3, 2026.

The statement noted that the 10-time African champions face a challenging group-stage campaign, with Group C matches scheduled to hold in Casablanca at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium.

Hosts Morocco will lead Group A, based in Rabat, where they will compete against Algeria, Senegal and Kenya at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium.

Group B, also in Rabat, will feature South Africa, Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso and Tanzania, with matches taking place at the Al Madina Stadium.

Group D fixtures will be staged in Fes and will involve Ghana, Cameroon, Mali and debutants Cape Verde.

At the end of the group stage, the top two teams in each group will advance to the quarter-finals. The four semi-finalists will automatically qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027.

The quarter-final losers will contest additional matches to determine the two African teams that will progress to the inter-confederation play-offs for World Cup qualification.

Nigeria claimed the continental crown at the last TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2024, edging hosts Morocco 3–2 in the final held in July.
