Angela Okorie Tendres Public Apology to Mercy Johnson, Calls for Peace

Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has publicly apologised to her colleague, Mercy Johnson, as well as her children and entire family, over past misunderstandings between them.

Okorie made the apology in a video shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday, where she first expressed gratitude to her fans worldwide for their support.

Describing herself as imperfect, the actress said the video was specifically directed at Mercy Johnson and her family.

Reflecting on their long-standing issues, Okorie attributed the rift to rumours, misunderstandings and third-party interference during their years in the movie industry, adding that she now prioritises peace as she grows older.

She offered a direct apology to Mercy Johnson, expressing regret over any words she had spoken or written against her on social media, and dismissed negative labels often associated with the actress.

Okorie also stressed the importance of peace between families, especially for the sake of their children, noting that their children could meet and form friendships anywhere in the world.

Condemning bullying, she expressed displeasure over reports of Mercy Johnson’s children being bullied in school, stating that such actions were unacceptable.

The actress repeated her apology, asking for forgiveness from anyone she might have offended knowingly or unknowingly, and declared her commitment to making peace with everyone.

She further described the apology as a fresh start, reaffirming her friendship with Mercy Johnson and vowing not to entertain negative comments about her again, but instead address any concerns directly.

Okorie revealed that both actresses had already spoken privately on the phone, during which apologies were exchanged and accepted.

She concluded by offering prayers for Mercy Johnson, stating that she harboured no ill feelings and wished her continued success and elevation.
