Cubana Chief Priest Retains CBM Directorship in Imo — Tinubu’s Group Debunks Rumours

The national leadership of the City Boy Movement (CBM) has confirmed that Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, continues to serve as the officially recognised Director of the movement in Imo State.

The clarification was issued in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja by the CBM Director-General, Francis Shoga, who dismissed circulating reports suggesting any internal review or reversal of Okechukwu’s appointment.

Describing the rumours as misleading and inaccurate, Shoga emphasized that Okechukwu remains the sole duly appointed CBM representative in Imo State, and no new appointments have been approved or validated.

He added that claims of parallel leadership structures, withdrawal of appointments, or internal disputes do not reflect the official position of the organisation. According to Shoga, the movement adheres strictly to established procedures and due process in managing appointments and coordinating its state chapters.

“Any formal decision concerning leadership positions would be communicated strictly through authorised channels,” Shoga stated.

He further stressed, “The City Boy Movement remains a structured and disciplined organisation. Any ambiguity arising from recent correspondence is a ploy to discredit the integrity of the group. All our members remain united under a common objective of strengthening grassroots mobilisation and advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.”

Shoga noted that CBM’s focus remains on mobilising support, consolidating grassroots structures, and delivering on its mandate in support of President Bola Tinubu’s vision for national development.

He urged members and the public to disregard unverified reports that could create confusion within the movement while reaffirming CBM’s commitment to unity, transparency, and organisational discipline across all its structures nationwide.
