Controversial Nigerian singer Portable, born Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, has once again stirred reactions in the music industry after making bold claims about award-winning rapper Olamide and other industry figures.
In a now-viral video, Portable alleged that Olamide had instructed certain individuals not to play his songs. The singer insisted that his rise to fame was not dependent on any single individual and dismissed suggestions that his success was tied to external influence.
Addressing his fans in the video, Portable claimed he was self-made and sustained by his loyal fan base.
“Eyin fans mi, egbami. I’m bigger than them, Zaazu Zeh. Who are those people that said they should not play my song? I heard that Tunde Perry said Olamide said they should not play my song again. Are you my God? Do you feed me? I have my own fans. I’m bigger than anybody. You are not the ones taking care of me, my wife and kids. Don’t use your assistance to stress me. Are you the only one that will stress me?” he said.
The singer further questioned the alleged move to sideline his music, stating that genuine support should not come with pressure or intimidation.
Portable, known for his outspoken personality and frequent online outbursts, has repeatedly made headlines over public disagreements within the industry. His latest comments have since generated mixed reactions among fans and music stakeholders.
