LeBron James Makes History as Oldest Player with Triple-Double in Lakers Victory

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James became the oldest player in NBA history to record a triple-double on Thursday, leading the team to a 124-104 triumph over the Dallas Mavericks.

At 41, James tallied 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists, surpassing Karl Malone, who was 40 years and 127 days old when he notched a triple-double in 2003. James secured his final rebound with just over two minutes left in the game.

The achievement comes just three days ahead of his 22nd All-Star Game appearance, further extending his unprecedented 23-year career as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer and four-time champion.

Lakers coach JJ Redick lauded James for his professionalism and dedication, saying, “I don’t take for granted how good he is. The remarkable thing is how much he cares in his 23rd year with all his accomplishments. He’s going to keep setting records. It’s the day-to-day commitment and care that’s most impressive.”

With Mavericks star Luka Doncic absent, James set the tone early with 14 points in the first quarter, helping the Lakers rebound from two consecutive defeats. The crowd erupted when James was subbed out for his son, Bronny James, shortly after grabbing his 10th rebound.
