The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has warned Nigerians against fake recruitment websites currently circulating online, falsely claiming to be conducting hiring exercises for the service.
In a statement shared via its official X handle on Tuesday, the NIS clarified that the only legitimate recruitment process is the one officially handled by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).
The service urged applicants and members of the public to rely exclusively on the official CDCFIB recruitment portal for accurate and up-to-date information, stressing that any other websites, links or advertisements outside this platform are unauthorised and should be ignored.
According to the NIS, fraudsters often use fake portals to collect personal data or demand payments under the pretext of recruitment, warning applicants to remain vigilant to avoid falling victim to such scams.
The service further encouraged the public to report any suspicious recruitment websites or adverts to the appropriate authorities.
