Burna Boy Breaks Silence on DJ Tunez Clash, Admits Slap but Denies “10-Man Attack” Claims

Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy has publicly addressed the controversy surrounding his recent altercation with DJ Tunez, firmly rejecting allegations that he attacked the DJ alongside a group of men.

The incident, which sparked online debate after claims by Wizkid and DJ Tunez, suggested that Burna Boy had “ganged up” with as many as ten individuals, was clarified by the Grammy-winning artist during a livestream conversation with Shallipopi on Wednesday night.

Dismissing the accusation, Burna Boy insisted he acted alone during the confrontation. However, he did admit to physically striking DJ Tunez.

“I didn’t need ten people. It was just me,” he said during the livestream. “I gave him two slaps—that’s all.”

The “African Giant” crooner further argued that the narrative of a group assault was exaggerated, stating that the outcome would have been far more severe if multiple people had been involved.

According to Burna Boy, he remained at the club for several hours after the incident, anticipating a possible response from DJ Tunez and his associates. Instead, he later discovered that the DJ had taken to social media to express his grievances.

He also claimed that DJ Tunez was not alone at the venue but alleged that those accompanying him fled when tensions escalated.
