Lawmaker representing the South East Senatorial District of Rivers State, Mpigi Barinada, has died.
The sad news was confirmed on Thursday by Akin Alabi, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Works, in a tribute shared via his official X account.
In his message, Alabi wrote, “Good night my dear friend. Rest in Peace, Senator Mpigi Barinada. Sen Mpigi represented Rivers South East in the Senate.”
Until his death, the late lawmaker served as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Works.
As of press time, details surrounding the circumstances of his death had not been made public.
