Beninese music icon Angélique Kidjo has announced that her highly anticipated new album, ‘Hope’, will be released on April 24, 2026. The album, five years in the making, is a deeply personal project dedicated to her late mother, Yvonne Kidjo, whose guidance inspired the central theme of resilience and optimism.
Sharing the announcement on social media, Kidjo said her mother “taught me that every dream I had could be accomplished” and described the concept of hope as something that “makes us human.”
Hope will feature 14 tracks and an impressive lineup of collaborators spanning Africa, the United States, and Europe. Notable contributors include Nigerian stars Davido and Ayra Starr, American producer and musician Pharrell Williams, funk legend Nile Rodgers, rapper Quavo, the Soweto Gospel Choir from South Africa, and Nigerian duo The Cavemen.
The album continues Kidjo’s legacy as a five-time Grammy Award–winning artist, blending African roots with global sounds and telling stories that resonate across cultures. Hope is expected to further solidify her reputation as one of the world’s most influential contemporary African musicians.
Fans and music lovers worldwide are eagerly anticipating the release, which promises a rich mix of African rhythms, contemporary production, and cross-cultural collaborations.
The album will be available across major streaming platforms and in physical formats, ahead of a series of planned live performances and promotional events.
