BUK Cracks Down on Admission Fraud, Expels 171 Students for Fake Entry Qualifications

The Senate of Bayero University Kano (BUK) has approved the expulsion of 171 students for presenting fake entry qualifications, in a sweeping crackdown on admission irregularities.

The decision was reached at the university’s 433rd Senate meeting held on March 4, 2026, according to an official bulletin issued by the institution’s Public Affairs Directorate on behalf of the Registrar.

University authorities said the action followed a thorough review of a report submitted by the Senate Committee on Entry Qualification Irregularities, which uncovered discrepancies in the admission records of the affected students.

The development underscores BUK’s commitment to upholding academic integrity and maintaining strict compliance with admission standards, as institutions across Nigeria intensify efforts to combat credential fraud.
