Nigerian singer and songwriter Omah Lay recently gave fans a candid glimpse into his personal life, sharing how a breakup deeply affected him while attending the 2026 Grammys.
In a heartfelt discussion, Omah Lay revealed the challenges of balancing love and career, admitting that relationships sometimes consume him entirely. He said:
“Every time I fall in love, I lose myself. I lose myself. I was at the Grammys… while Justin Bieber was performing, I was having a breakup right inside. I was not present… even before the Grammys, I was already having problems in the relationship.”
The singer described how a two-month relationship left him so emotionally invested that he struggled to focus on anything else.
“I don’t know how to do two things at a time. So when I’m into one thing, all of me is into that. I wasn’t present at the Grammy. I didn’t even enjoy anything,” he said.
Despite the emotional weight, Omah Lay also reflected on love with his signature humor, advising:
“Don’t love me… I’ll just enjoy this moment, but as soon as I find another thing that gives me pleasure, I’m gonna leave.”
