Pipeline Infrastructure of Nigeria Enhances Security Along Eastern Corridor

The Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited has announced the deployment of advanced security measures to safeguard the Eastern Corridor Pipeline Network, one of the nation’s critical energy infrastructures.

According to a recent post on X, over 30 operating camps and drone stations have been positioned along the full length of the pipeline. Each station streams live video feeds in real time to the company’s Security and Operations Centre, enabling continuous monitoring of the network.

“We have deployed over 30 operating camps and drone stations along the full pipeline corridor, with every live feed streaming in real time to our Security and Operations Centre,” the post read.

The initiative is part of a broader effort to protect the nation’s energy assets from vandalism, theft, and other security threats, while ensuring the uninterrupted flow of oil and gas through the Eastern Corridor.

Experts say that the integration of drone surveillance with on-the-ground security personnel reflects a modern approach to infrastructure protection, combining technology with strategic field presence to mitigate risks and respond swiftly to incidents.

The company did not provide financial details of the deployment but emphasized that maintaining the security of pipelines is a top priority for energy supply stability and national economic growth.
