Popular Nigerian TikTok influencer Otweytwey has sparked social media conversation after revealing that she personally funded her wedding to Afrobeats singer C‑Nero, despite widespread belief that he had paid for it.
In a video that has gone viral, Otweytwey stated that she covered all expenses for the wedding, including the ring, but many friends and family members assumed the opposite. She said:
“I sponsored my wedding. I paid for everything down to the ring, but our parents think he did. The money he was spraying on our wedding day was my money.”
Otweytwey also shared that when the couple first met, C‑Nero was financially stable at the time, and that much of his income came from gambling, a revelation that has stirred debate among fans.
The couple, who were together for approximately two years, announced their separation in December 2024. Her latest disclosure has reignited conversations online about financial dynamics in relationships, raising questions about transparency, societal assumptions, and who should bear the costs of major life events like weddings.
Social media users have been quick to react, with some praising Otweytwey’s honesty and independence, while others debated the broader implications of financial responsibility in romantic relationships.
Otweytwey’s candid revelation offers insight into the pressures of public relationships and the misconceptions that can arise when financial roles are assumed rather than clarified.
