Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that Israel’s military offensive against Iran is far from over, saying the strikes have significantly weakened the Iranian leadership but emphasizing that the campaign will continue.
Speaking at a meeting with health system officials in Jerusalem on Monday, Netanyahu declared, “We are breaking their bones and we are not done yet.” He expressed hope that the Iranian people would eventually “cast off the yoke of tyranny,” while stressing that such change would ultimately depend on Iran’s citizens themselves.
The remarks come after joint United States–Israeli strikes on Iranian targets on Feb. 28, which triggered one of the most serious escalations in the Middle East in years. The strikes have raised concerns over regional stability and potential disruptions to global energy markets.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi rejected any immediate talks with Washington, stating that negotiations with the United States are no longer “on our agenda.” He affirmed that Iran is prepared to continue missile operations “for as long as necessary,” signaling a firm stance against U.S. claims that the conflict could end “very soon.”
The confrontation has already seen Iranian drones and missiles target U.S. bases and allied positions in the region, while Trump’s administration warned of escalated retaliation if Iran attempted to close critical oil routes or escalate attacks further. Gulf allies have reportedly expressed concern over the lack of coordination, emphasizing the risk of a wider regional conflict.
The escalation underscores the deepening rift between Israel, Iran, and the United States, highlighting the fragile balance of power in the Middle East and the potential for further destabilization if hostilities continue.
