The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced an extension of the registration deadline for school candidates for the 2026 Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CB-WASSCE) to Friday, March 13, 2026.
The council made the announcement via its official social media channels, stating that the extension is intended to give prospective candidates additional time to complete their registrations and resolve any pending issues. WAEC emphasized that no further extension will be granted beyond this new deadline.
The extension follows reports of technical challenges and high registration demand since the commencement of the 2026 registration exercise. WAEC reassured the public that preparations for the examination are on track and highlighted that the computer-based format will enhance accessibility, efficiency, and fairness for all candidates.
The council has urged schools, students, and parents to take advantage of the extension to ensure successful completion of the registration process.
